The Venue & Spaces

Where is Church on Jefferson Event Center located?

Church on Jefferson Event Center is located in the heart of Historic Downtown Franklin, Indiana, providing a unique blend of historic architecture, modern amenities, and convenient access to local hotels, restaurants, and attractions.

What type of events do you accommodate?

We accommodate weddings, rehearsal dinners, holiday parties, celebration parties, fundraisers, galas, corporate meetings, community meetings, theater and book signings (one-day and multiple-day options).

How many guests can Church on Jefferson accommodate?

Our venue can accommodate up to 200 guests depending on your event layout. Guest capacity varies based on where you choose to hold your ceremony, and whether you utilize balcony seating and the VIP Lounge.

Do you offer both ceremony and reception space?

Yes. Church on Jefferson hosts the couple's wedding ceremony and reception, allowing guests to remain in one beautiful location throughout the celebration.

Is there a bridal suite?

Yes. We offer a spacious bridal suite designed for hair, makeup, dressing, photography, and relaxing with your bridal party before the ceremony.

Is there a groom's suite?

Yes. Our groom's suite provides a comfortable private space for the groom and groomsmen to prepare and relax before the ceremony.

Do you have a VIP lounge?

Yes. Our VIP Lounge overlooks the sanctuary and offers an upscale private gathering space ideal for wedding parties, family members, cocktail receptions, and special guests.

Is there a bar area?

Yes. We offer dedicated bar service locations and flexible layouts for cocktail hours, receptions, and guest gatherings.

Catering & Bar

Can we choose our own caterer?

Yes. Couples may select from a list of our premier approved caterers.

Can we provide our own alcohol?

No. Alcohol must be purchased from licensed and insured approved caterers to meet Indiana state licensing laws and regulations. Bar packages and drink-ticket options are available.

What's Included

Do you provide tables and chairs?

Yes. We provide banquet tables and chairs as part of our venue rental package. Additional specialty rentals can also be arranged.

Do you provide linens?

Linens (black and white) may be included in certain packages, or customized colors are available through preferred rental partners. You may inquire for options.

Is Wi-Fi available?

Yes. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the venue.

Décor & Rules

What décor is included?

Church on Jefferson's historic architecture, stained-glass windows, crystal chandeliers, and elegant interior provide a stunning backdrop that often reduces the need for extensive decorating, and we have premier vendors available if you'd like more.

Are candles allowed?

Battery-operated candles are always permitted. Open-flame candles may be permitted if enclosed in approved containers and in compliance with venue safety requirements.

Can we decorate the venue ourselves?

Yes. Couples are welcome to personalize the space. We simply ask that decorations do not damage walls, floors, windows, furnishings, or historic elements of the building.

Do you allow sparklers, confetti, or glitter?

To protect the venue and simplify cleanup, confetti, loose glitter, and similar materials are not permitted. Please ask about approved send-off alternatives.

Parking & Accessibility

Is there parking available?

Yes. All parking is free public parking available nearby at the surface lot next to the Visitor Center, just west of our event center.

Is the venue handicap accessible?

Yes. Church on Jefferson is designed to provide accessibility for guests requiring accommodations, with a handicap ramp on the northeast entrance of the building.

Planning, Vendors & Coordination

How early can vendors arrive?

Vendor access times are coordinated during the planning process. Early-access options may be available depending on your event schedule.

Can we schedule a rehearsal?

Yes. Rehearsals can be scheduled based on venue availability and are typically coordinated prior to your wedding date.

How long is the venue rental period?

Rental periods vary by package. Full-day wedding packages provide up to 10 hours of total venue access (ample time for setup, a 5-hour event run, and cleanup), with all events concluding by midnight. Non-wedding events are typically booked in 4-hour blocks.

Do you offer event coordination?

We provide venue management support and coordination regarding the facility. Many couples also choose to hire a professional wedding planner or day-of coordinator.

What's the difference between venue staff and a wedding coordinator?

Venue staff manage the facility, setup requirements, and venue operations. A wedding coordinator manages timelines, vendors, wedding-party organization, ceremony cues, and day-of logistics.

Can we bring in our own vendors?

Yes. Couples may select their own vendors, subject to venue requirements and insurance guidelines.

Do vendors need insurance?

Certain vendors may be required to provide proof of liability insurance prior to the event.

Can we take engagement photos at the venue?

Engagement sessions may be available by appointment. Please contact us for scheduling and availability.

Booking & Payment

How do we reserve our wedding date?

To secure your date, we require a signed venue agreement and an initial $1,500 reservation payment.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept multiple payment methods including ACH, check, and major credit cards.

When are payments due?

The initial non-refundable $1,500 deposit is due at reservation, 50% of the venue fee is due 90 days prior to the event, and the final venue fee in full is due 14 days prior to the event.

Tours & Availability

Can we schedule a tour?

Absolutely. We encourage every couple to experience Church on Jefferson in person. Private tours can be scheduled by appointment and availability.

How do we check availability?
